The Christmas Star appeared when Jesus was born

Bible Lesson: Do you ever look at the stars at night. (show picture of stars) They look like little twinkling lights because they are so far away. One night there were 3 wise men looking at the stars and they got excited because this night they saw a huge star. Because of all the studying they had done they know this was a special star that would come when Jesus was born.
They hurried up and got ready for a long journey on their camels. When they got to the country where Jesus lived they asked all around saying “Where is He who is born king of the Jews?”. Some of the scribes knew and told them to go to Bethlehem.
When they got close the Star was right over the place where Jesus was living. The Wise men saw it and saw Jesus they got so excited. They were joyful. It made Mary and Joseph joyful and we can be joyful too. Sing The Joy of the Lord. They had presets to give to Jesus.
and later when Mary and Joseph had to leave with Jesus because of a bad king it helped them to have food to eat and a place to stay.
The wise men went back to their country and were very very happy. Did you know you can give a gift to Jesus too – not gold or perfume or frankincense but something Jesus really wants because He wants to bless us when we give it to Him. One little boy who saw Jesus said “What can I give Him poor as I am, If I were a shepard I’d give him a lamb, if I were a wise man I would do my part, what can I give Hime- I’LL GIVE HIM MY HEART. (use the heart story below to show them how they can do it.
Invitation to have Jesus In your heart: Put on a dirty ragged shirt with a big red heart pinned to it with dirt all over it. Say this is what we look like without Jesus. When Jesus comes into our heart He cleans us up. What makes us dirty is sin and God’s Word says everyone has sinned.. When we give him our heart He cleans it. We can;t see it but He makes us new inside and gives us joy..
GAME: Tape stars to the floor with a start and an end. At the end picture of Jesus. Have them follow the stars to find Jesus just like the wise men did.
