Bible Lesson: We can talk to the Lord God whenever we want to. We can tell him things, we can thank him, we can ask him questions, we can can ask him to help us, and we can ask Him for things. We know this because we know he loves us as much as the people in the people and he listened to them and helped them and gave them things.
One of the bible people who asked God for things was Solomon. Solomon loved the Lord. He did what God asked Him to do and one night he asked for Wisdom to help him be a good king for his people. The Lord answered his prayer. He acted so wisely that people form all over came to hear his wisdom and gave him presents – He became very rich. He didn’t ask to be rich but the Lord saw to it that he got riches because Solomon was not asking to be rich but only to help people. He did what God’s Word told him to do. That was pleasing to God. It made Him smile. He had promised to bless those who kept God’s Word and He kept his promises to Solomon.
King David talked to God once and said “You have kept your promises. (Show old Testament pictures In the Bible that show God keeps his promises. God’s Word says says The Lord hears when I call to him.” Does your grandmother or your friend listen to you when you talk to them on the phone? You can’t see them but they still hear you. You can’t see God but he still hears you!!!!!!!!! (Use cell phones)
The Lord wants us to talk to Him and ask Him for things. (Show pictures of good dreams, riding in a car, riding a bike, not wanting to go to bed, ) and explain how to ask the Lord for help we need. We must use good words. If we say “God won’t help me ” it makes God sad because it means He can’t help us. Sometimes we have to wait a while but he always helps us.
Have basket of bibles so children can search for pictures of the bible story of Solomon
