Bible Lesson Jesus Heals Bartimaeus: There was a man.  His name was Bartemaeus.  He had a problem.  He couldn’t see.  He had to sit on a rug all day and beg for money.  That was hard.  Some people tried to trick him.  (Have them put on blindfolds to see what it was like to be blind – talk them through doing difficult things when you can’t see.)

Bartimiaeus was sitting by the road one day and he heard a huge crowd of people coming.  Then he heard someone say – Jesus of Nazareth is passing by so he yelled out “Jesus son of David have mercy on me.”  People told him to be quiet but he kept yelling it louder and louder.  Jesus heard him so he told Bartimaeus  to come.  Bartimeaus throw off his begging coat and ran to where he heard Jesus. 

Of course Jesus healed him.  Jesus also said “Your Faith has healed you.  Bartimeaus had great faith  – He didn’t give up calling out, and Jesus knew it.  Jesus was happy to heal him.  Jesus loved him – and He loves us too.  You don’t need to be afraid and you don’t need to stay sick.  Show pictures of kids Jesus healed today and people in the Bible who were healed.

J = Teacher Teacher I can see!

T = That’s right Joeey, and I can see too.  Can you see boys and girls?

J = But you don’t understand I could not see before.

T = Sorry, Joey why couldn’t you see before?

J = Well I had some smelly stuff on my hands and I my eyes itches so I rubbed them.  Then my eyes really hurt and I could’t see.

T=  That’s awful Joey what did you do.

J = I yelled for my mom and she came and we prayed together and asked Jesus to heal me.

T = And it worked because now you can see.

J=  Yes Jesus healed my eyes!  Thank you Jesus!!!!!

T = Lets all thank Jesus for healing Joey’s eyes! (Give puppet kisses to those who want one)
