Moses and The Lord’s People were in trouble but the Lord took care of them

The Sea parted when Moses struck the rock.

Principle Red Sea Parted:  The Lord parted the sea so his people could get away from the enemy.  He loves us and takes care of us in powerful ways.  He is Mighty!

Bible Lesson Red Sea Parted: Say ” Everyone lets Pretend.”  We are going on a journey and we are never coming back we are free.  (Show chains and ropes and bricks and talk about how bad it was.)  They asked the Egyptians for their jewelry and they gave it to them (give them jewelry and sacks and flags and begin marching.”

It is very hot in the desert and we are tired.  We see Pharoah coming after us and we are afraid.  But God comes with a big  Cloud and they can not come close to us so we are no longer afraid.  We keep walking.

Oh no, we are coming to water and we can’t get across.  We are afraid again. Moses talks to God again and asks for help.

God told Moses lift up your rod.

The Lord parts the sea.  We all go across on dry land.  There is that cloud is behind us.  So even if the Egyptians are coming we don’t have to worry.  Then when we are all across God makes the sea go back and we are safe.

Now we are all singing and playing our tambourines!

J: Boy am I tired.

T: You look tired, what did you do?

J: I went swimming with my friends.  We swam and threw the ball to eah other and dunked each other.

T: You can go in the big pool?

J: Yes because I took swimming lessons last year.

T: I know some people who walked through the water without having to swim.

J: How did they do that>

T: God caused the wind to blow all day and all night and it blew back the water to the side so they could walk across the bottom.

J: WOW!  That would be neato to walk with water on both sides of you.

T: Yes God is so great.  He brought the people through safely.  I’m glad He is my God too.
